EYFS

Welcome to our Early Years Foundation Stage at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School. We are the home of our school’s youngest learners, aged 2–5 years old. Our days are spent exploring, trying our best and thinking of our own ideas of what to do next. It’s very busy work, but we don’t mind having a go!

We are very lucky in Early Years as we have lots of grown-ups with lots of experience working in our classrooms. Mrs Wilson is our 2-year-old room leader, Mrs Wright is our Nursery Class teacher and Miss Berry is our Reception Class teacher. We are helped and supported by Mrs Beaumont, Mrs Young and Miss Holliday.

As soon as our school day starts, the fun begins. We love seeing our friends and grown-ups and finding out what we’re going to learn about next. To start our day, we say our prayers and gather together for Prayer and Liturgy. After that, we take part in phonics activities (appropriate for our level of development) and enjoy exploring and listening to stories.

Every day we spend time together with our Key Person. We really enjoy this time together as we can talk, share and discuss lots of different things. Sometimes we like to talk about our families, and sometimes we love to sing songs and dance together!
