Communication and Language is at the heart of everything we do at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School; it underpins every area of learning and development in our EYFS. We continually strive to create language-rich environments that are brought to life by ongoing communication and quality interactions between adults and peers.

Spending time with children in their play allows us to build an effective curriculum, centred around children’s interests and opportunities to build on their language skills and vocabulary. We love reading at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary and love sharing stories, role playing together and expressing thoughts and ideas. This enables our children to communicate as individuals, use new words in a meaningful way and build on their communication skills.
