Covid Catch-up Funding
The government is providing schools with £650 million of universal catch-up premium funding for the 2020/2021 academic year. The aim of the funding is to help pupils catch up on education they have missed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Schools should use this funding for specific activities to support their pupils to make up for lost teaching over the previous months.
The catch-up premium is funded on a per pupil basis at £80 per pupil. The spending of this money is decided by individual schools to allocate as they deem appropriate. To support schools in making the best use of this funding, the Education Endowment Foundation has published a support guide for schools with evidence-based approaches to catch-up for all pupils.
This plan outlines how we are going to invest this funding for the whole school, targeted support and wider areas. It utilises current research from the Education Endowment Foundation.
